The Problem

Ian came to my desk and asked for assistance with printing, as he kept having errors come up on his screen.

The Solution

I followed Ian to his office, where he demonstrated what happens when he tries to print his documents. A “Low Disk Space” error kept popping up on the screen. I suggested to him that he will need to clear some space on his hard drive.

The Implementation

We went through his files together and removed any files that he had accidentally duplicated or that were outdated and not important. I also ran a clean-up process that removed any unnecessary applications and files.

The Outcome

After freeing space on the hard drive, we were able to send his documents to the printer, however this was only a temporary fix to the problem. I suggested to Ian that he can get a newer laptop with more storage to combat this issue. I also requested for Julian (Head of IT) to come in and look at the laptop and provide other solutions.
